USCPFA-Atlanta Forums on China
Since 2001 USCPFA-Atlanta has organized public forums that have dealt with many subjects regarding China. This has been one of our major activities to fulfill our purpose of educating the Atlanta community about China. The forums offer information and stimulate discussion about China. We are grateful to the individuals in academic and other professions who have participated in these forums. These people comprise a great resource on China for Atlanta. These forums would not be possible without the generous contributions of time and expertise that they make.
Forum topics have included China’s international relations, trade, health care, energy and environmental concerns, a variety of internal concerns, literature, and cinema. A complete list of forum topics is available by clicking here.
Besides the many academic and professional people who have made presentations in the forums, we are also most grateful to several institutions for providing places for us to meet. Agnes Scott College has provided space from the beginning of the series; Professor Penny Campbell (now retired) and Professor Shu-chin Wu have made arrangements for meeting space at Agnes Scott College. Professor Penny Prime of Mercer University-Atlanta and the China Research Center which she heads have also provided talent, meeting space, and help with publicity. Forums also have been held at The Carter Center and Kennesaw State University.
